With this patented technology fully under control a modular line of Surge Trap® SPDs complying with UL was launched in the North-american market.
Now theSurge Trap® lines extends to a global scale with a product range complying with IEC 61643-1 standard and models dedicated to the solar photovoltaic DC applications.

Surge Trap® are fail-safe Surge Protective Devices preventing disruptive, dissipative or destructive damages caused by transient overvoltages in industrial electrical equipment and installations.
Surge Trap® are:
- Easy to install, they are DIN-rail mountable
- Easy to retrofit, when using the Pluggable model the user has only to replace the plug unit without removing the base. Pluggable is the premium offering in the Surge Trap® line when Modular is an economic alternative.
- Global: with UL and IEC models and for photovoltaic applications as well
- Communicative: a front visual indicator communicates the status of the TPMOV®. Remote signaling is an option via an auxiliary microswitch.

Photovoltaics as power source is very booming. By 2020 installed capacity in solar power is expected to be near 300 GW. Generating electricity from this available energy source is an extremely reliable process – as long as it’s properly protected !
